Chalan Foundation Programs
Chalan Foundation has identified key broad areas to focus on in order to support attainment of its vision. The key strategic pillars are intended to give valuable guidance in decision making and resource allocation. They will give clarity on priority areas of focus and guidance towards achievement of the Foundation’s objectives. Further, the Foundation has outlined the plan of action it will take to aid in the achievement of its strategic objectives.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Education program is the heart of the Chalan Foundation. It is concerned with sponsoring eligible students with their tuition fees. Chalan Foundation support needy students in public day secondary schools by contributing towards their school fees. This noble act as reducing student absenteeism and providing them with wings to soar high as an eagle.
CLIMATE CHAMPIONS PROGRAM
The Climate Champions Program identifies and supports high school students passionate about addressing the climate crisis through advocacy, civic education and innovation. Selected from our Chalan Club Members, these Climate Champions will participate in programs focusing on environmental awareness and climate change in collaboration with our partners. This initiative provides them with access to forums, conferences, and events that promote youth-driven climate action, drawing inspiration from UNEP's Youth Champions of the Earth program.
LIFE COACHING PROGRAM
This program aims to provide high school students with a well-rounded education in life skills that will serve them well as they transition into adulthood. It encourages self-awareness, personal growth, and the development of practical skills that are essential for success in various aspects of life.
COMMUNITY SERVICE-LEARNING PROGRAM
Community service learning entails a balanced emphasis on both students‟ learning and addressing real needs in the community. Learning outcomes are linked to meaningful human, safety, educational, and environmental needs that are co-determined with community partners and service recipients. The service experience is brought back to the classroom to enhance learning. Learners work on real problems that make academic learning relevant while simultaneously enhancing their social skills, analytical ability, civic and ethical responsibility, self-efficacy, and career development.
CHALAN ALUMNI PROGRAM
Under this program, former Chalan members return to their high schools to motivate current students. This program would enable the students to see what is possible for their futures by seeing the success of others who have walked the path before them. This program would be implemented once every term in the beginning at inception.
